The Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. **Falah Hassan Shari**, participated in the (9th National Conference on Environment and Natural Resources) organized by the College of Science at the University of Basrah, under the strategic theme (Towards Facing Climate Change and Desertification).

On the sidelines of the conference's opening session, Dr. Falah took the initiative to plant a sapling in the college garden, a symbolic gesture representing the importance of afforestation and agriculture in mitigating the effects of climate change. He emphasized the necessity of converging academic and field efforts to protect natural resources and develop sustainable strategies to face current environmental challenges.
