The Department of Philosophy at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled (Interpretation of Aristophanes's Al Sohub Play).
The panel discussion, in which Professor Maha Issa Al-Abdullah lectured, aims to emphasize the link between the different and diverse Greek intellectual production and their influence on each other.
The panel discussion dealt with three important issues:
The first issue dealt with the Aristophanes as a comic playwright, the second issue dealt with the characters of the play and gave a simplified idea of each character in it, and the third issue focused on the text and what the satirical poet tried to say in this play.
The panel discussion touched on the reasons for the importance of this play to the history of philosophy in particular and to the Greek heritage in general. Because it painted a scene for us about social, political and economic life and what happened in Greek society in general and philosophy in particular.
