
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture on biosecurity measures in poultry farms.
The lecture aimed at introducing the concept of biosecurity in poultry farms and the procedures used to reduce and limit the transmission of infection.
The lecture which was delivered by Dr. Zainab Abdel-Razzaq Matar and the teacher, Magharib Mohamed Jader, included two topics. The first dealt with the importance of biosecurity in poultry farms, and explained the sources of entry of infection into farms, with mentioning the necessary ways to control it and limit its spread. The second topic dealt with the important factors in choosing the location of poultry farms, as well as accuracy in its selection because of the economic importance and profitability of these projects for the consumer and society.
