The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra presented gifts to the children who were hospitalized in the Basra Specialist Hospital for Cancer Diseases, through a visit by a team of teaching staff and students to the hospital.
The team carried a set of symbolic gifts to distribute to the children, in an attempt to sow joy and happiness, ease their feelings of suffering from the disease, and their endurance of the exhausting treatments that increased the importance of the disease.
Dr. Sondos Abdel-Wadoud Nehme, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, stated that visits to the hospital continue during the school year, and fundraising continues from teachers and students. The proceeds of the charity market set up by the college have been allocated to help children overcome their ordeal.
