The College of Science at the University of Basrah discussed a master's thesis entitled (Analysis of petrophysical properties and determination of flow units for the Zubair reservoir in the southern Rumaila field, southern Iraq).
The study of the student, Heba Ahmed, included nine wells distributed over the southern Rumaila field to analyze the petrophysical properties, determine the reservoir units, conduct the cluster analysis of the upper sand member based on the well probes, calculate the heterogeneity of the reservoir, and determine the units of flow.
The results concluded that the porosity is good in the study wells and also indicates the presence of good hydrocarbon reservoirs as a result of the improvement of the reservoir properties and the best reservoir unit is DJ in terms of porosity and oil saturation, and that the study wells are reservoirs of heterogeneity, and the upper sand member was divided into four clusters or Facies depending on the data of the well probes.
