Board's research at the college of Medicine, University of Basra, discussed Evaluation of Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 oncoprotein in serum and tissue samples of women with newly diagnosed breast cancer. The research, presented by student Iman Ismail Sami, aims to compare the levels of the of human epidermal growth factor 2 in the serum measured by the enzyme immunosuptake assay test associated with the ratio detected by immunohistological chemistry and to investigate the relationship between these levels with other tumour characteristics. The research concluded that high levels of the human epidermal growth factor receptor in the blood serum are related to the detection by immune histological chemistry in tissues and tumour proliferation. There is also a significant increase in the receptor among breast cancer patients compared to the combination of evidence. For this reason, the results of the human epidermal growth factor receptor test in the blood serum are a potential diagnostic tool with the ability to clarify the burden of the disease.
