The thesis dealt with the study of patients with type 2 diabetes and the effect of this disease on lung function in general. The study also included the effect of some commonly used diabetes medications on lung function. Where diabetes is characterized by many complications that include all organs of the body, including the lungs.
The thesis concluded that there is a significant decrease in lung function test criteria for diabetic patients compared to healthy individuals, with the predominance of restrictive patterns of lung disorders. Type 2 diabetes plays an important role in the development of pulmonary complications, which may be one of the primary, non-metabolic disorders that are easily measured in diabetic patients.
