
The University of Basrah organized a central celebration in the College of Law on the occasion of the fifty-ninth anniversary of its founding.
The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, delivered a speech at the ceremony, which began with the reading of verses of the Holy Quran and the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, then he stated that the University of Basrah, which was founded in 1964, annually celebrates its day, and that the university spared no effort in paving its way towards the desired excellence at a rapid pace, so it was and still a model for reputable university teaching and an example to be followed in raising the efficiency of the education process locally and internationally, to occupy a high position.
Adding that the University of Basrah has taken firm steps in the local accreditation of all its academic programs, as well as obtaining international accreditations for those programs, out of its belief in the necessity of cooperation with local and international universities in various educational fields.
The celebration activities included honoring a group of university professors and employees, as well as honoring the students participating in the marathon, which was held in Bab Al-Zubair Colleges Complex.
