The College of Education for Human Sciences - Continuing Education Unit - University of Basra organized a workshop on (sustainable development of agriculture throughout history)
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of agriculture in the establishment of the Mesopotamian civilization and other civilizations.
The workshop was attended by professors from the Department of History, who are:
1- Dr. Furat Abdul Hassan Kazem.
2- Dr. Amira Rishk Laibi.
3- Dr. The memory of Awwad Yasser.
4- Dr. Shaker Wadi Haber.
The workshop included the following:
1- Standing up on the interest of ancient civilizations in agriculture being the influencing factor in the establishment of those civilizations.
2- The types of plants that civilized peoples cultivated.
3- The impact of agriculture on revitalizing tourism and the national economy.
The workshop came out with a number of recommendations:
A- Spreading the culture of sowing and not cutting, in order to preserve the aesthetics of the college.
2- The need to take care of crops, as they constitute urbanization factors in human societies.
It is noteworthy that this awareness-raising workshop for students was launched in conjunction with the farming campaigns in the college.
