(The study dealt with the role of the United Nations in Iraq, the international resolutions that were issued during the period 2003-2010, and the related internal and external national files related to Iraqi affairs. The study consisted of an introduction, a preface, four chapters, and a conclusion. The preamble dealt with United Nations resolutions The role of its UN missions and committees 1990-2003, while the first chapter dealt with the US occupation of Iraq in 2003 and the United Nations’ position on it. Drafting the Iraqi constitution, reducing violence and improving Iraq's external relationship 2005-2007, while the fourth and final chapter reviewed the role of the United Nations in supporting Iraq's sovereignty and removed it from Chapter VII 2007-2010.
The thesis aims to reveal .. (This study has shed light on the nature of the role of the United Nations in Iraq and its repercussions on the Iraqi, regional and international situation and the national position on it, and tried to show the international conflict between the major powers and its repercussions on the work of the international organization in Iraq positively and negatively.)
And the thesis concluded (that the United Nations has a pivotal role in Iraq, whose roots extend back to the period in which Iraq occupied Kuwait, i.e. since 1990, to develop this role with the occupation of Iraq by US forces and its allies in 2003. The United Nations contributed to the transfer of sovereignty to the Iraqis and support for the democratic process such as elections And writing the permanent constitution, as well as enabling Iraq to regain its wealth and control it, especially oil revenues, and the United Nations succeeded in bringing the views of all Iraqi political parties together in order to overcome sectarian violence and unrest that erupted in Iraq and lasted for nearly 12 years).
