A master's thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah discussed the poetic sentence in Ibn Duraid's Diwan, a study in structure and semantics by the student (Raghad Ahmed Ishaq).
The thesis dealt with the study of the poetic sentence in the Diwan of Ibn Durayd in terms of linguistic structure and the statement of the specificity of the poetic sentence and its linguistic and expressive characteristics and its impact on poetic formation and tracking the meanings of the poetic sentence in his poems.
The thesis concluded that the poetic sentence has important linguistic, structural and expressive characteristics and features that make it different from the usual sentence, even if it is based on the structure of the Arabic grammatical sentence.
