The College of Education / Qurna at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion on isolating and diagnosing bacteria associated with hydatid cysts and testing their sensitivity to antibiotics.
The panel discussion included a demonstration of the isolation and diagnosis of bacteria associated with the fluids of hydatid cysts isolated from the livers and lungs of sheep, cows and buffaloes by isolating and diagnosing the bacteria associated with hydatid cysts by traditional methods and then investigating the susceptibility of the isolated bacteria towards antibiotics as well as conducting molecular studies of the isolated bacteria using the 16SrRNA gene to diagnose bacteria at the level of sex and gender.
