The College of Nursing at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology, electrophoresis of DNA and the amplified gene.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Abdul Muttalib Abdullah Muhammad and researcher Kholoud Abdul Karim.
The workshop included introducing the technology and its applications in various scientific and medical fields and its practical benefits as well. Introducing the devices, tools, and materials attached to the work, and clarifying the mechanism and interaction steps in amplifying the target genes from the DNA in the thermocycler, and how to detect the amplified gene after that with the electrophoresis device, as well as training the participants on practical application.
