The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah conducted a permanent removal of chronic gingival fibrosis by using the water laser device.
Dr. Hoda Jassim Jabr, who performed the operation in cooperation with Dr. Sari Abdul Karim, cervical and long-term students, stated that the operation took place in the laser department in the clinics of the College of Dentistry using a water laser device, which is a modern device specifically used to treat gum problems as well as many uses in the field of modern dentistry.
In addition, these fibroses are a benign growth of tissues resulting from the friction of the movable dentures with the tissues lining the mouth, indicating the complete success of the operation, without bleeding, and with a high recovery rate compared to traditional surgeries.
