A master's thesis in the College of Science at the University of Basra discussed the production of biosurfactants from some types of actinobacteria and the study of their biological activity, the postgraduate student Sukaina Abdullah Habib's thesis showed how these compounds are produced from isolated filamentous bacteria and their importance from a medical and applied point of view.
The thesis aims to isolate and identify filamentous bacteria from sediments and evaluate the biological activity of the biosurfactants extracted from them. The thesis concluded that the marsh environment is rich in actinobacteria and that the compounds produced from them have many important applications.
The thesis recommended conducting further studies for the purpose of isolating new types of filamentous bacteria from other environments to obtain new types of biosurfactants and to test other applications of these compounds.
