
Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the College of Medicine, University of Basrah, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Khattar Musa gave a scientific lecture entitled (Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever).
The lecture was delivered at the Basra Oil Company Hospital for Cardiac Surgery, targeting health and nursing cadres.
The lecture included an introduction to Crimean Fever, which is a transmissible viral disease endemic in Iraq and a number of countries. The tick is the storage and main carrier of this virus.
He explained that the most important ways to prevent this virus is to wear gloves and other protective clothing while dealing with animals or their tissues, and the need to keep animal barns away from places of residence, and to regularly spray animals with pesticides before slaughtering them.
