A master's thesis entitled (the administrative, social and economic conditions in the Al-Amarah District through administrative inspection reports (1932-1958)) was discussed in the Department of History at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah.
The thesis presented by the researcher Khudair Abbas Jabr included four chapters. The first chapter discussed the administrative conditions in Al-Amarah district and the development of the administrative inspection law in Iraq 1861-1958, the second chapter discussed the administrative conditions in Al-Amarah district through administrative inspection reports 1932-1958, the third chapter dealt with the social conditions in Al-Amarah district in light of the administrative inspection reports 1932-1958, and the fourth chapter included the economic conditions in Al-Amarah District in light of the administrative inspection reports 1932-1958.
The thesis aims to identify documents, the only material that reflects the image of the past with all its events, words, actions and reactions in a way that no other historical material does, which made it the main reference for many historical research and studies.
The thesis concluded that Al-Amarah Brigade did not witness, since its establishment by the Ottoman occupation authorities until the era of the British occupation, a stable administrative system. Those authorities were keen to take care of their interests without caring about developing the general conditions in the brigade. Accordingly, the British authorities created several administrative positions to ensure that they monitor the work of Iraqi ministries and government departments.
