A PhD thesis entitled (Shaqaeq al-Matalib in Sharh Kafiyyah Ibn al-Hajib by Sheikh al-Faqih Muhammad Taqi Ibn al-Sheikh Hasan Ibn al-Sheikh Asad Allah al-Tastari al-Kadhimi (1327 AH) was discussed in the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah.
The thesis presented by student Nouri Abdul Karim Nehme included two parts. The first part dealt with (the study) and the second part discussed (the verified text). The study was divided into four chapters. The first chapter included the author and the book, the second chapter dealt with the principles and arguments in the explanation, the third chapter focused on grammatical phenomena in the explanation , and the fourth chapter showed the features of the investigation methodology, the description of the written copy, and examples of the written copy.
The thesis aims to contribute to the realization of one of the effects of our manuscript grammatical heritage in order for it to take its place in the Arab library, and for scholars and researchers to draw from it.
The thesis concluded that the book Shaqaiq al-Matalib fi Sharh Kafiyyah Ibn al-Hajib was not printed or investigated before, and this is the first time that it has seen the light, and its attribution to its author was not in doubt. The study revealed the personality of a distinguished scholar with extensive knowledge in the sciences of the Arabic language, jurisprudence and logic.
The thesis recommended the necessity of paying attention to the manuscript linguistic heritage and preserving it from loss, and that the researchers focus on contributing to the verification and publication of manuscripts to take their place in the world of publishing. The thesis also recommended that there be other studies dealing with Shaqaiq al-Matalib fi Sharh Kafiya Ibn al-Hajib, as it is a grammatical text of scientific value that deserves effort and study.
