The instructor at the College of Medicine at the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Jassim Muhammad Salman, published a chapter in a medical scientific book entitled: New advances in medicine and medical science volume 6.
The chapter is titled (A new way to put the laryngeal mask). The study conducted a new technique in which the device is easily inserted and it will be suitable for anesthesiologists and medical personnel using LMA as there is less risk of contamination or any risk to their fingers.
The author stated that compared with the traditional method of insertion, the new method is a suitable technique that improved the ease of insertion of the LMA and successfully implanted the device in a shorter period of time without complications.
Recommending the use of this technique in the practice of anesthesia as an alternative method in case of difficulties in the traditional method.
The book was published in June 2023.
