The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, received the Assistant President of the University of Ahwaz (Nishapur), Dr. Habib Haiber and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of a number of deans of colleges and department directors.
Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi discussed with the visiting guest the possibility of opening new departments, and touched on the issue of the university hospital, which has reached its final stages with a capacity to accommodate 500 patients, explaining that the University of Basrah lacks middle cadres with an abundance of doctors.
Shaheen revealed the desire of the University of Basrah to operate the advisory center after activating the joint specialization As well as holding a scientific and cultural week between the two universities and sending new doctors to Ahwaz University for development.
Dr. Habib Haiber expressed his great happiness at his presence in the ancient University of Basrah, which was established more than half a century ago, and mentioned that Ahwaz University (Nishapur) teaches various medical sciences, and there is a hospital on campus, which has received about 100 Iraqi students.
Heiber added that it is possible to provide any of the specializations needed by the University of Basrah, including teachers and doctors according to our field of specialization in medical sciences and laboratories, and we aspire to activate the role of visiting professor and joint teaching, with the possibility of conducting short courses for teachers.
