A master thesis entitled (The role of Ludwig Erhard in the economic life of Federal Germany until 1953) was discussed in the Department of History at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah.
The thesis presented by the researcher Muhammad Hamid Musa included four chapters. The first chapter discussed Ludwig Erhard and his early family and intellectual upbringing and his economic activity until 1938 , the second chapter deals with Ludwig Erhard and his reading of the economic conditions in Germany (1938-1945), the third chapter discusses the role of Ludwig Erhard in restructuring the German economy (May 1945-June 1948), and the fourth chapter includes contributions of Ludwig Erhard in building the economic system of the Federal Republic of Germany (1949-1953).
The thesis aims to identify one of the most prominent German figures who played important roles not only in the history of federal Germany but also in the history of the European continent, especially after the end of World War II in 1945 until 1953, the year that witnessed the end of the first electoral cycle (1949-1953) of the German Bundestag, through which he held the portfolio of the Ministry of Economy in Federal Germany.
The thesis concluded that this personality tried hard to adopt economic visions and ideas capable of putting some economic touches on the structure of the German economy, which was almost completely destroyed after the First and Second World Wars, and that he was able to restore Germany to its political and economic position on the European and international stage.
The thesis recommended that the study of this personality be completed with a master's thesis or a doctoral dissertation because of the economic ideas that this personality carries that may help in building and sobriety the Iraqi economy in the future.
