A master's thesis at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah discussed the ceremonial and its representations in the contemporary theatrical performance by director Hamid Saber by choice.
The thesis presented by the researcher Mona Hassan Karim included the topic of celebration, which is a pattern of relationships that depend on intellectual and psychological interactions to reach an emotional state that is produced automatically and participatory, and thus represents an energy capable of production and change.
The thesis aims to study the importance of the festival, which emerged as a theatrical style with an Arab identity during the seventies, and to monitor its representations in the performances of Iraqi director Hamid Saber.
The thesis concluded that the celebration in the theater is a style that is distinguished from other theatrical styles and is based on establishing a state of effective positive overlap between the presentation space and the receiving space, which requires the evocation of active intellectual elements and psychological stimulation.
