
The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basrah organized a lecture on Hermann and learners' personalities, and choosing the appropriate teaching method for each type of thinking inn light of the development course for faculty members held by the Continuing Education and Development Center.
The aim of the lecture, which is part of the Teaching Methods course, is to train the trainees to know the type of their personalities and their differences according to their thinking style, so that they can be trained to apply that in dealing with their students as far as it comes to individual differences between students.
The lecture presented by Dr. Nidaa Muhammad Al-Yasiri, Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, included a presentation of the mechanism of brain function in the light of the latest scientific research, and the launch of the (Hermann) scale for the participants; To find out which parts control their thinking.
The workshop discussed how to prepare lessons for each of the patterns that dominate the student's thinking, according to the theory that classified the dominant patterns of people: objective, executive, creative, and emotional.
At the end, the recommendation was that every teacher should know his own thinking pattern in order to know the thinking pattern of his students and, accordingly, the reasons for their behaviour.
It was also recommended that the lesson should be prepared in light of these four patterns of brain dominance theory.
