As the Dean's Assistant for Scientific Affairs and a lecturer at the College of Dentistry, Dr. Sundus AbdulWadod Neama conducted a surgery to extract an impacted tooth in the lower jaw of a twenty-three-year-old patient, with the help of dentist. Dr. Sundus said, "The impacted tooth was the second lower premolar, which is very close to the sensory-wisdom nerve that feeds the lower lip. It was removed after its segmentation, when the crown was cut, and then the bone that was surrounding the root was cut to facilitate its extraction and not damage the nerve. The operation was completed successfully and under the influence of positional anesthesia.
It Is noteworthy that the College of Dentistry has a track record in conducting surgical operations for its patients In cases that need surgical intervention through an operating room equipped for this purpose.
