A master thesis entitled (violating the principle of gradient phonemic resonance in child language: from a contrastive and differential perspective) was discussed in the Department of English at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah.
The thesis presented by the student, Ali Mutashar Abboud, included five chapters. The first chapter discussed the initial steps of the study, while the second chapter was devoted to the theoretical side, the third chapter discussed the research design and methodology, the fourth chapter dealt with data analysis and interpretation and discussion of the results, while the fifth chapter contained conclusions and recommendations.
The thesis aims to identify verbal syllables between native and semi-native speakers of the English language using differential theory to calculate these processes and how to address violations of the principle of audio resonance in each category.
The thesis concluded that native children show a lower frequency of gross violations compared to non-native children.
The thesis recommended that it paves the way for a deeper understanding of differential acoustic violations.
