The study area consists of greasy clay sediments. According to the geochemical accumulation factor values, the sediments in the Al-Ezz River are heavily polluted with lead and cadmium, moderately polluted to non-polluted with copper, and non-polluted with manganese, zinc, and cobalt. The environment is moderately polluted with cobalt.
