Dean of Pharmacy Participates in Strategic Seminar on "The Future of Iraqi-Japanese Relations"
The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Falah Hassan Shari, attended a specialized seminar organized by the Center for Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies, featuring the Iraqi Ambassador to Japan to discuss bilateral cooperation.
The seminar, delivered by the Iraqi Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Abdul Karim Toma, explored the deep historical and economic ties between Iraq and Japan. He highlighted the significant role of Japanese corporations in the Iraqi market, notably that Japan ranked second globally in vehicle exports to Iraq, following the United States.
Furthermore, the session detailed Japan's developmental support between 2004 and 2006, which included a monumental 80% debt reduction and the provision of various developmental grants and loans totaling over $7 billion. These efforts underscore Japan's commitment to the stability and economic infrastructure development of Iraq.
