A master’s thesis at the University of Basra discusses the impact of the Carman model on developing language skills and academic participation in the Arabic language subject for students in non-specialized departments.
A master’s thesis was discussed at the University of Basra, College of Education for Girls, entitled The Impact of the Carman Model on Developing Language Skills and Academic Participation in the Arabic Language Course for Students in Non-Major Departments, by the student Raghad Najm Mahmoud Al-Rubaie.
The subject of the study aims to identify the Carman model and its role in developing language skills and academic participation in the Arabic language subject for students in non-major departments. Several hypotheses were developed to apply this study.
The study was divided into two groups, the first to evaluate language skills and included 22 items in its final form with six-point alternatives. The second group was to test academic participation, where the researcher chose Al-Silawi’s academic participation scale.
  The study concluded that studying using the Carman model led to an effective impact in improving the students’ educational level and had an impact on the students taking responsibility for their studies.
