The College of Pharmacy at University of Basrah organized its fourth international symposium (The role of nanotechnology and nano-bio technology in developing pharmaceutical products) with the participation of researchers and specialists. The symposium included giving lectures that began with Dr. Muhammad Hussain Madrasi from Tehran University of Medical Sciences - that is, in which he explained the genetic mutations in the Corona virus and their genetic type and their relationship to the genetic variation that exists in a person through the difference of place and age and the impact of these mutations on the immune system and receptors of the Corona virus on members The human body and the level of disease symptoms or complications. Professor Adnan Al-Badran from University of Basrah / College of Science focused in his lecture on the importance of biotechnology applications in the production of many protein products with high drug efficacy used to treat many chronic diseases such as diabetes and diseases with genetic causes, including those related to growth and blood clotting and others and the importance of attention In this field, by supporting researchers in this field, because of its great importance in providing many treatments for rare diseases. The symposium also dealt with the role of nanoscale applications in a lecture given by Dr. Hisham Fayyad Muhammad from University of Basrah / College of Science and focused on the basic concepts of nanotechnologies are vital, including the classification of nanomaterials according to size and three dimensions as well as the chemical nature and the role of nanomaterials in practical applications in drug delivery methods and the pharmaceutical industry Especially in the fields of drug transport technology and drug scoring technology. As for the role of nanotechnology in improving drug specifications, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Najim at Basra University / College of Pharmacy explained the benefits obtained from using these techniques, including increasing the rate and amount of solubility of drugs, improving the rate of their release from drug forms, and then increasing absorption and permeability across the different biological layers to produce efficacy.
