Dr. Saad Shahin Hamadi, the President of the University of Basrah, inaugurated several infrastructure and campus environment projects at the College of Engineering, accompanied by the Dean of the College, Dr. Ramzi Salem Ali. The visit began with the opening of internal roads within the college, which were equipped with sidewalks, and all sidewalks were painted according to engineering standards.
Moreover, a project for rainwater drainage was inaugurated to address the previous lack of a rainwater drainage system at the college. The university president participated in operating the pumps and inspecting their functionality, which was completed in standard time.
Afterward, he moved to the college gardens and planted a sapling as an initiative to increase green spaces within the college. Furthermore, he inaugurated the Dr. Asaad Salim Hall, which has been completely rehabilitated to become a model hall in the college and the university.
These projects were carried out under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ramzi Salem Ali, as part of the college's plan to progress the academic and service environment, as well as to improve the aesthetic appeal of the College of Engineering.
The opening was attended by the Dean of the College of Pure Sciences for Education, Dr Falah Hussein Khudair, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Falah Hassan Sharee, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Sarmad Abdullah Abbas, and the Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department, Dr. Haider Muadz Mohammad.
