At the University of Basrah, a ceremony was held for the handover of deanship positions in several significant colleges of the university, as part of the routine practice in university administrations and the structures of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Dr Saad Shahin Hamadi, during his speech at the opening of the university council session, which witnessed the handover process, the university president expressed gratitude for the efforts made by the outgoing deans for their contributions and support to the university's academic progress under various circumstances.
Hamadi continued by stating that the university is committed to serving knowledge and society, pushing the wheel of knowledge forward with the capabilities it possesses.
He congratulated the new deans on assuming their respective roles, emphasizing the importance of continuing the journey started by their predecessors in supporting and advancing the academic movement. He also stressed the need to elevate the university to higher levels while preserving its achievements, including its recent attainment of advanced rankings in international classifications.
The university council welcomed the new deans, who will lead various colleges, including the College of Engineering, Pharmacy College, College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, College of Humanities Education, College of Pure Sciences Education, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Computer Science and Information Technology, College of Girls' Education, and the College of Administration and Economics.
Meanwhile, outgoing deans were honoured by the University of Basrah's presidency, council, and the Iraqi Academics Syndicate.
