The University of Basra hosts a meeting of deans of colleges of education for humanities in Iraqi universities.
The College of Education for Humanities - University of Basra hosted the fourteenth regular meeting of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Education for Humanities in Iraqi universities. The attendees discussed the importance of continuing these meetings, as they will yield knowledge of the most important findings of the corresponding colleges in other universities.
The President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, stated during his welcoming speech to the attendees that the massive and rapid electronic development in social media has made education a very difficult task, and this requires teaching staff to exert more effort. To develop teaching and learning methods, as well as supervising the development and monitoring of students’ potentials; To improve their outputs in line with the need of the labor market by opening scientific departments and reducing others.
The President of the University continued, “We hope that the meeting will come out with recommendations that serve the educational process to be submitted to the relevant authorities in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research urgently.” To contribute to the development of education in Iraqi universities.
The Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Nidaa Muhammad Baqir, stated: The meeting discussed a number of topics on its agenda, the most important of which is updating, modifying and enriching scientific curricula, as well as the necessity of using modern teaching methods and encouraging students to read and search for information.
The regular meeting was attended by deans of colleges of education for humanities in various Iraqi universities, and a number of professors and specialists in the field of teaching development.
