Assistant to the Scientific President of the University, Dr. Ali Hussein Rashek, and Chairman of the CBRN Radiological Committee, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Ali Saki. The College of Engineering at the University of Basra held a course on chemical, biological, and radiological safety and security in the presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mufeed Turki Rasheed, and the participation of all members of the CBRN Central Committee and the Associate Scientific information for the Dean of the College of Engineering, the Director of the Continuing Education Unit in the College of Engineering, and graduate students in the College of Engineering, the Departments of Physics, and the Department of Earth Sciences and Agricultural Mechanization who are required to take this course.

About radioactive contamination, presented by Dr. Abdul Rahman Faleh Hassan from the College of Dentistry and a member of the CBRN Committee.
The lecture covered two parts, the first included four topics: an introduction to radiation, the definition of radioactive contamination and its types, the danger resulting from it, the radiation impact on workers in laboratories, a definition of cancer, and the radiation risk factor for cancer....
The second part dealt with four axes: safety requirements, the importance of preparing an emergency plan, training workers, an explanation of the mechanism of radiation detection, detection devices and tools, and finally, a set of recommendations were included for students regarding safety and the period of presence in laboratories in which radioactive sources are available.
It is worth noting that the course lasts for a week and is considered a mandatory course for all postgraduate students and one of the graduation requirements.
