In support of the Quran, the Women's Empowerment Department at Basrah University participated in the grand opening ceremony of the largest Quran monument. The event was organized by the Basrah Governorate under the direct supervision of Mr. Mohammed Taher Al-Tamimi, the First Deputy Governor of Basrah, and received special support from Mr. Farhan Al-Fartousi, the Deputy Director of the Basrah Ports Company.
University of Basrah President, Dr. Saad Shahin Hamadi, also attended the opening ceremony, along with various government officials and esteemed religious figures.
The monument symbolizes the sanctity of the Quran and the Islamic nation's commitment to the Book of Allah Almighty. Mr. Mohammed Taher Al-Tamimi, the First Deputy Governor, mentioned that the monument stands at an impressive height of eleven meters and has a width of nine meters. Today, it represents a new and significant landmark in the flourishing city of Basra and serves as a response to the repeated attacks carried out by some individuals who are mentally and ideologically disturbed.
