The University of Basrah and Koweyaa University in Sulaymaniyah have signed a memorandum of understanding and mutual cooperation in academic fields, elevating the academic and research standards, and working together towards internationalizing higher education. The agreement was signed by the President of the University, Dr. Saad Shahin Hamadi, and the President of Koweyaa University, Dr. Mohammed Hassan Zankana.
Both parties agreed to develop and unify the curricula for corresponding specializations, exchange resources within shared fields, conduct training workshops on teaching methods and laboratory quality for staff, organize scientific conferences, and collaborate in the field of e-learning and joint lectures, either in person or electronically, for undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
They emphasized the necessity of establishing a joint research and development center, achieving mutual supervision, implementing a Master of Arts (MA) program for postgraduate studies, exchanging scientific visits for students, and organizing periodic academic debates among students in corresponding specialties.
