A lecturer at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Mr. Moataz Hikmat Othman, in the Department of Ecology, published an article entitled Artificial Rainfall in the Face of Climate Change.
The article, which included an explanation of the scarcity of rainwater, the widespread desertification, the spread of dust storms, and the severe shortage in the amount of water coming into the country, highlighted the benefit of the experiences of other countries to address water problems through the use of artificial cloud seeding of all kinds, whether injecting clouds with chemicals or using ion cloud seeding.
The article was published in the Iraqi “sky” news agency, which outlined the benefits of artificial rain seeding methods as part of solving the water problems facing the world in general and Iraq in particular.
