The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on the frankincense extract extracted from the Boswellia carterii tree, with the participation of researchers and specialists.
The seminar included a lecture delivered by graduate student pharmacist Khairallah Muhammad, in which he studied the effect of frankincense extracted from the Boswellia Carterii tree on uric acid in the blood and urine of rats.
The results showed a significant decrease in uric acid in the blood by increasing its secretion in the urine and a significant inhibition of the xanthine oxide enzyme in the blood, which is responsible for the formation of uric acid.
