Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, President of the University of Basra, and under the direct supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, and in cooperation with the Basra Health Department, the Community Health Nursing Branch, in cooperation with the Basra Health Department, and in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Challenge Month, held a symposium on breast cancer.
The symposium included an introduction to the medical history, causes of the disease, methods of early detection, and various methods of treatment, presented by Professor Dr. Sajjad Salem, teacher Ahmed Ziara, teacher Dr. Hisham Hussein, Dr. Zainab Kamel, and Dr. Zahraa Salem. The symposium was moderated by the head of the community health branch, teacher Dr. Firas Abdel. The Qadir. The symposium also discussed the causes of breast cancer that can be controlled, such as general weight, diet, and not taking medications that cause it, and there are causes that cannot be controlled, such as aging. The symposium came out with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: the necessity of conducting a periodic examination of the person to control the disease before it occurs. At the end of the symposium, the respected Dean of the College, Dr. Majid Asghar, praised the efforts made to complete the symposium and provided his guidance to his students about interest in promoting health and how to spread health awareness to all members of society. . The symposium was attended by the respected Associate Dean of Science, a number of college professors and staff, and a large number of university students.
