The College of Medicine at the University of Basrah convened a meeting in the presence of the University's President, Professor Dr. Saad Shahin Hamadi, and several Basrah province representatives. Among them were Dr. Yassin Hassan Taher, Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Education Committee, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Rubaie, a member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee. Mr. Mazahim Al-Khayat, Head of the Parliamentary Education Committee, also joined the meeting via phone. The Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Mazen Hawaz Abdul-Ridha, and the faculty members of the College of Medicine were also present.
The meeting included discussions about challenges and issues that could negatively impact the educational process, such as the increase in the number of students and the shortage of teaching staff.
The parliamentary representatives expressed their commitment to providing all necessary resources and working to resolve any issues facing universities, aiming to create a suitable environment for all students to excel and enhance the reputation of the university and Iraq."
