The College of Medicine at the University of Basrah held a graduation party for the graduating students of the academic year 2022-2023, accompanied by the recitation of the medical oath. The event was attended by Dr Saad Shahin Hamadi, the President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Wisam Mohammed Ali Al-Redini, the Chairman of the Basrah Doctors' Syndicate, and Dr. Abbas Khalef Al-Tamimi, the Director General of Basrah Health Department.
Professor Dr. Mortada Mohammed Saleh Al-Musafir, the Dean of the College of Medicine, explained that this was the 55th cycle, named 'The Cycle of Progress and Development.' The college conducts this annual celebration for the recitation of the medical oath by graduating students.
The event was also attended by several college professors, assistant deans, and heads of scientific departments at the college. The proceedings began with welcoming remarks, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs, along with the national anthem.
The ceremony included welcoming speeches from the President of the University, the Chairman of the Basrah Doctors' Syndicate, and the Dean of the College, all of whom praised the college's history, traditions, and the dedicated teaching staff and students. The event also featured the distribution of gifts and the honouring of the top-performing students at the college.
