During a cabinet session, Prime Minister Engineer Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani decided to gift the presidential yacht "Naseem Al-Basra" to the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basrah for scientific and research purposes.
The University's President, Dr Saad Shahin Hamadi, stated that the presidential yacht "Naseem Al-Basra" serves as a scientific centre for conducting research related to river and marine environments. It is equipped with furnished rooms, a presidential suite, three meeting rooms, and a helipad. The yacht measures 83 meters in length and 13 meters in width, with engines capable of reaching a speed of 18 knots per hour.
