A master's thesis at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, discussed the structural behavior of composite beams made of iron and lightweight self-joining concrete with partial shear overlap. Student Bayader Abdel Hadi’s dissertation included this study experimentally investigating the use of lightweight self-compacting concrete (LWSCC), which represents a trend for producing high-performance concrete, as a concrete slab in composite beams of iron and concrete with vertical nails as shear ties. The researcher concluded that the experimental results showed higher values for the maximum resistance, service load, and hardness for the composite beam made of iron and NWSCC compared to the sample of the beam composed of iron and LWSCC.
