The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra held an educational, awareness-raising and guidance symposium to combat the spread of deviant ideas among university students in cooperation with the Al-Thaqalayn Cultural Foundation affiliated with the Hussein shrine in Najaf.
The awareness lectures delivered by Mr. Hassoun Al-Battat, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Halafi, and Sheikh Qasim Al-Ibrahimi stressed the students’ adherence to the teachings of the true Islamic religion, not being submerged under the shadow of so-called negative matters in daily life, turning them into positive ones, and exploiting difficulties to feel the true value of the things within their reach.
The symposium was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ali Taha Yassin, Professor Dr. Ali Jabbar Hassan, Assistant Director of the Follow-up Department at the University of Basra, faculty and staff of the college, and a large number of college students.
The Hussein Shrine has expressed its readiness to cooperate with the University of Basra and continue to hold such guidance seminars, and the Shrine will bear all the financial costs for holding students’ graduation ceremonies in the Holy City of Najaf.
Organizing scientific trips for students, teachers and employees to learn about the most important works of the Hussein Shrine and the extent of its scientific interest in medical matters and its keenness to establish health centers to treat patients at nominal prices and build an integrated hospital for cancer diseases equipped with the latest medical equipment.
