The Department of Earth Science at the College of Science discussed a master’s thesis entitled Study of water cuts in the AB reservoir unit of the Zubair Formation in the southern Rumaila field, using petrophysics, geostatistics, and machine techniques. Researcher Israa Qasim Saleh pointed out the calculation of petrophysical properties using traditional well logs, and choosing the best algorithm using statistics. The error. The results showed that the petrophysical properties of Unit AB are not normally distributed with large relative variation. The study recommends implementing tailored reservoir management strategies, focusing on the northern, central and southwestern regions with the highest petrophysical characteristics and water cutoff values.
