The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture about"The Impact of Chemistry on Mouth Health," delivered by Dr. Huda Mahdi Yunus.
The lecture covered the chemical composition of teeth and saliva, highlighting essential minerals for maintaining oral health and preventing dental issues. It also explained the continuous chemical reactions that occur within the mouth, contributing to enamel and jawbone damage, as well as the effects of acidity and salivary flow. The objectives of the lecture acquaint the chemical composition of toothpaste and mouthwashes, as well as the chemical properties of restorative dental materials and alloys to create a better environment for oral health preservation.
