The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Education for Human Sciences organized a workshop on (the economic, health and social impacts of the Corona pandemic on human societies)
With the participation of specialized geographical researchers, Dr. Hussein Juban Uribi Al-Maaradi and Dr. Sadiq Hantoush Nasser Al-Simari, the workshop lectures included ((dimensions of the Corona pandemic and the health, political, economic and social effects resulting from it on human societies) and they also dealt with economic problems at the global and regional level as well as its effects on the Arab color. The workshop has future dimensions in light of the current economic changes as well as the future of economic relations between countries and between them and the World Bank and the obligations of debtor countries in the face of World Bank policies, especially in North Africa and the Middle East.
The workshop also dealt with the effects of the Corona pandemic on the structure of the international system, i.e. (How do countries deal with the crisis and what is its fate? Will the crisis affect the state’s power and decline its hegemony or specifically America’s leadership of the world, or will it be a presence of competitors like China? "And how the pandemic affected the regional system and showed its weakness As is the case in the European Union? The workshop also focused on the implications of the crisis on the Iraqi economic, social and health environment
The symposium also discussed the most important economic halls that have been subjected to deterioration as a result of this pandemic, especially the tourism and transport sectors of all kinds, as well as other halls of countries.
The workshop was aimed at examining the economic impacts that have emerged recently, especially since Iraq is one of the countries affected by this pandemic in light of the low global oil prices, and for the purpose of finding adequate means to counter these effects on the Arab region, especially Iraq. As well as learning about the most important conclusions and possible recommendations to deal with the pandemic at the economic and health level
