The College of Law at the University of Basrah organized a practical and applied lecture on the tasks of the investigator at the crime scene. The lecture highlighted the legal investigation procedures that the investigator must undertake during his work, which involve a procedural process conducted by the specialized investigator. Through this process, evidence is gathered to prove or disprove the crime against the suspect.
The purpose of the lecture was to move away from the classical legal education model. This is based on the understanding that the importance of educational processes is not just in memorizing information and the student's ability to recall it. Rather, it lies in the student's ability to apply the acquired knowledge practically. This is achieved by deepening the student's understanding of the scientific material and connecting the theoretical academic information received in the college with its practical applications.
The objective of this approach is to develop the student's teamwork skills through the real application of legal issues. Additionally, it contributes to building the student's practical skills and qualifies them to engage in legal work in line with the college's outputs and the requirements of the Iraqi reality. This reality demands well-qualified competencies and accurate legal skills in the legal specialisation.
