College of Pharmacy Organizes Extensive Scientific Seminar for Diabetes Awareness and Early Diagnosis Enhancement
The Clinical Pharmacy Department, in collaboration with the Continuing Education and Educational Guidance units, organized a specialized scientific seminar on diabetes, reviewing the latest therapeutic and nutritional protocols for early detection and limiting chronic complications.
The seminar included a series of in-depth scientific lectures. Dr. (Haider Iyad Al-Idrisi) reviewed the history of diabetes treatments and the importance of modern methods for complication reduction. From the pharmaceutical perspective, Pharmacist (Duaa Qasim Sabih) highlighted the risks of neglected blood sugar levels and corrected common misconceptions. Dr. (Gibran Khalil Hassan) emphasized modern diagnostic mechanisms, while Dr. (Abdel-Ilah Abdel-Hussein) accurately explained balanced diets, types of oils, and required regimens.
Key Recommendations:
Conducting periodic HbA1c and random glucose tests regularly.
Focusing on medical nutrition and using modern software for dietary monitoring.
Regular diabetic foot examinations to avoid severe complications.
This seminar is part of the college's community mission to promote health culture based on scientific evidence and to strengthen cooperation between various medical disciplines to serve patients in Basrah governorate.
