A medical team from the College of Dentistry at Basra University, consisting of a group of doctors and students under the supervision of Dr. Hoda Jassim, provided health care to the elderly in the nursing home in Basra Governorate.
Dr. Hoda said that the team examined the mouth and teeth of the elderly and referred cases requiring treatment to educational clinics at the college.
She added that it is possible to replace the elderly with removable dentures for the upper and lower jaws in educational clinics.
The team also distributed gifts to those in the home out of a desire to ease their burden and instill reassurance, security, and a sense of familiarity, love, and social solidarity.
