The Department of geology at the College of Science organized a seminar entitled Evaluating the ancient and current sedimentary status of Khor Abdullah using sedimentary analyzes and geophysical techniques. The seminar, in which researcher Zainab Abdel-Rida Al-Humaidan lectured, aims to identify ancient environmental deposits and the possibility of giving an idea of the violations and retreat of the sea in the study area. The study included the use of sedimentary and mineralogical analyses, and isotope isotopes, and linking them with the results of benthic and subbenthic marine geophysical sections and photographic sections. The results led to an estimation of warm and cold periods during the depths studied, based on marine advance and retreat in the Holocene period.
